PROSTHESES
Dentures made by the experts - a better quality of life delivered by our experienced dentists.
Patients who might have only a few teeth or no teeth at all left can choose between different types of dentures or dental prostheses. Full dentures replace the entire set of teeth, partial dentures are fitted together with your remaining healthy teeth. Dentures enable the patient to chew and bite again, restore the appearance of the teeth to their original state, and also close visible gaps between the teeth.
The right prosthesis every time.
A distinction is made between removable and fixed prostheses or combined systems such as a telescopic prosthesis.
- Full dentures
Are made when there are no teeth left in the jaw.
- Partial dentures
Are made when only a few teeth are missing from the jaw.
- Implant-supported prosthesis
Dentures can be connected to the jaw with the help of dental implants. You have the option to choose between fixed and removable prostheses. Implant-supported prostheses are particularly useful in the lower jaw, because lower jaw prostheses often do not get a firm hold on the lower jaw. In the upper jaw, a firm hold is achieved with a palatal plate that firmly adheres to the palate. The disadvantage here is that it impairs the sense of taste. Dental implants can also be connected to prostheses in the upper jaw. In these cases, the prosthesis can then be fabricated in the absence of a palatal plate. Implant-supported prostheses can also be manufactured with much greater delicacy and therefore have less impact.
- Telescopic prosthesis
Telescopic prostheses consist of a removable and a fixed part. The natural teeth provide support for the telescopic prosthesis. These are covered with inner telescopic crowns, which are firmly cemented to the teeth. The outer telescopic prosthesis sits on the removable part of the telescopic prosthesis. When the patient inserts the removable part of the prosthesis, the outer and inner telescopic elements slide over each other like links in a telescope. Dentures manufactured according to this design principle are therefore optimally anchored in the dentition.
